KELLY DANCE MOMS, whose chain saws the head off her husband’s dog, have been arrested after the dog bit a woman in Co Kerry.
A 60-year-old man from Kerry was arrested for the incident on Monday.
The incident happened at the home of Mr James MacNamara, the owner of The Drum Dance Moms in Tipperary, County Mayo.
Mr MacNara’s dog was found dead by his wife and neighbours on Monday morning.
They went to a neighbour’s house to look for the dog.
They found it in the backyard and called police.
The dog was then taken to Tipperar Hospital, where the owner was taken into custody.
Ms MacNaran, 60 was taken to the Tipperari Garda Station and charged with manslaughter and cruelty to animals.
She was due to appear in Tippcormack Garda station on Tuesday morning.
Ms Dolly, of Derry, said she had known Mr Macnara for more than 40 years and his family was devastated.
“It’s been really traumatic,” she said.
“He was a very gentle man, he was very loving, he had a very beautiful dog.”
He had no problems with dogs, but it was just tragic when the dog was killed.
“Ms Dory said her husband was a dedicated garda and a member of the Drum Dance Mothers, a family of dancers who have performed for generations.
We all hope for justice,” she added. “
I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.
We all hope for justice,” she added.
Ms Martin said the dog had been euthanised and the woman had been told to contact the police if she had any further questions.
The Drum dance moms’ website says they have performed since 1878.
