A cat who has just stolen a young cat’s coat has escaped from a busy street in Sydney.

Police said the cat had been stolen from a woman by a passer-by and was running away when she found the cat on the road.
“The woman contacted the police, who contacted the owners of the cats.
They immediately alerted animal control, who immediately took the cat in,” said Detective Sergeant Simon O’Brien from the Sydney-based Animal Control Unit.”
It’s an aggressive cat and the owner has been in contact with the animal control officer who is investigating.”
The cat had stolen a kitten’s fleece coat and had been trying to run away from the woman.
“She was walking along Kings Cross Street and when she noticed the cat running towards her she called animal control,” Sergeant O’Briens said.
“Animal control officers were able to locate the cat, it was taken into the station and we are now trying to identify the owner.”
